Limbang, July 26, 2026 – The Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) successfully organised the Limbang District-Level PALS Club Eco Camp at SK Menuang, Limbang, from July 24 to 26, 2026, bringing together students and teachers to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.

The three-day programme aimed to instil environmental consciousness among the younger generation, empowering them to become responsible leaders and advocates for environmental conservation in the future.

A total of 76 students and 32 teachers from 19 schools across Limbang District participated in the camp, where they engaged in a variety of educational and team-building activities focused on environmental protection, leadership, and sustainable practices.

The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg Datu Jack Anak Liam, Controller of Environmental Quality Sarawak. In his closing address, he commended the remarkable achievement of 100% PALS Club registration in all schools in Limbang District, describing it as a significant milestone that aligns with NREB's mission of achieving full PALS Club registration in schools throughout Sarawak by 2027.

YBhg Datu Jack also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Limbang District Education Office (PPD Limbang) and dedicated teachers for their continuous commitment and invaluable efforts in nurturing and strengthening the PALS Club movement among students.

Highlighting the accomplishments of the PALS Club Network, he shared its successes at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) at the national level and the GovMedia Conference and Awards on the international stage. He expressed hope that these achievements would inspire educators and students alike to continue pursuing innovation and excellence in environmental education.

The Eco Camp concluded on a high note, reinforcing NREB's commitment to cultivating environmentally responsible youth and strengthening collaboration with schools in advancing environmental sustainability across Sarawak.
