Kuala Lumpur, 8 July 2026 - NREB officers attended the Certified Carbon Trading Practitioner training from 6 to 8 July 2026 at AC Hotel by Marriott, Kuala Lumpur. Organised by the Center for Industry Certifications and Professional Development (CICPD), the programme enhanced participants' knowledge of carbon markets, the Emissions Trading System (ETS), carbon pricing, compliance and voluntary carbon markets, carbon credits, and relevant legal frameworks.

The training also covered carbon project development, corporate greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and risk management, including greenwashing, double counting, and regulatory uncertainty. The programme strengthened participants' technical competencies to support NREB's climate initiatives and Sarawak's transition towards a sustainable low-carbon economy.
