BINTULU, 1 October 2026 – The Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) conducted an engagement and technical visit to Sakura Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. at Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak, to gain insights into the scheduled waste management practices implemented at the premises.

The visit included briefings on the company's production processes and a site tour of its production area, scheduled waste storage area and secured landfill. The activities provided NREB officers with a better understanding of the handling and management of scheduled wastes generated from the company's operations.

The engagement also facilitated technical discussions and knowledge sharing between NREB and Sakura Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. to promote effective scheduled waste management practices and support compliance with applicable environmental requirements and regulations.

The visit was attended by officers from NREB Headquarters and the NREB Bintulu Divisional Office.
