17–18 July 2026 | TEGAS Digital Village, Kuching
The ASEAN Guru Innovation Challenge (ASEAN-GIC) 2026 was a regional education and sustainability initiative held under the eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN (eYAA) Cohort 6 programme. The main event, held at TEGAS Digital Village, Kuching, brought together 33 participants, comprising 11 teachers from ASEAN Member States, 11 teachers from Sarawak and 11 ASEAN Youth Volunteers.
Working in international teams, participants developed innovative projects focusing on environmental sustainability, climate action, STEM education, digital learning, the circular economy, community development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NREB Sarawak supported the programme through financial assistance, recognising the important role of educators in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices among future generations.
The initiative also provided opportunities for regional collaboration and knowledge exchange while strengthening environmental education, public participation and the development of innovative sustainability solutions. NREB Sarawak remains committed to promoting sustainable development, environmental stewardship and environmentally responsible communities in Sarawak and across the ASEAN region.
