MIRI 15 Dec 2025 - A training programme titled Oil and Gas Industry Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting, Reporting and Verification Training was held on 15 December 2025 at the NREB Miri Office. The programme was organised by EMS Progress Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with Riverstone Environmental Sdn. Bhd. and was attended by 19 officers from the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, representing PPD, CED, NREB Miri and NREB Bintulu.

The training was delivered by experienced speakers, namely Mr. Mexlin Nyomek, Ts. Dr. Dasline Sinta and Mr. Chiew Teck Wee. The objective of the programme was to enhance the capacity of NREB officers in greenhouse gas accounting, reporting and verification, particularly within the oil and gas sector.

Key topics covered included sources of GHG emissions, international reporting standards, the use of emission calculation software, methane reduction frameworks, and advanced monitoring technologies. Overall, the programme successfully strengthened participants’ understanding and supported NREB’s efforts to improve enforcement and monitoring of GHG emissions in Sarawak.
