LAWAS 11 Dec 2025 - The Talent Development Workshop: Towards Sustainable Development of Sarawak’s Mining & Quarrying Industry, together with the Launching Ceremony of the Green Mining & Quarrying Academy, was successfully held on 10–11 December 2025 at Hotel Seri Malaysia, Lawas. The programme, organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR), brought together key stakeholders from government agencies, industry players, and training institutions.

The two-day event aimed to strengthen industry knowledge, promote sustainable mining and quarrying practices, and introduce the newly established Green Mining & Quarrying Academy under CENTEXS Lawas. Participants were briefed on relevant laws and regulations, sustainable operational methods, safety protocols, environmental responsibility, and workforce development for Sarawak’s mineral sector.

NREB Sarawak in attendance included YBhg. Datu Jack Liam (Controller of NREB), Mr. Jong Chean Fuei, Mr. Jackson Andrew, Ms. Lovelyna Eva (also a presenter), Hj. Azlan Salleh, Ms. Jeslin, Mr. Ihsan and Mr. Kamri. The programme underscores Sarawak’s commitment to responsible and innovative mineral resource development in line with PCDS 2030.
