Sematan 29 Oct 2025 Wednesday - The Sarawak-level celebration of National Environment Day (HASN) 2025 was successfully held today at Roxy Beach Resort, Sematan, carrying the State theme “Driving Sustainability, Achieving Net Zero.” The event underscored Sarawak’s strong commitment to environmental governance and sustainable development.

The celebration was graced by The Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak, who in his speech highlighted Sarawak’s strategic plans to expand advanced recycling and waste-to-wealth initiatives including palm oil biomass utilisation, electronic waste processing, solar panel recycling, and sustainable aviation fuel production.

Attended by over 450 participants, including government agencies, local communities, and school children, the event featured an environmental exhibition, the presentation of the Guidance Document on Interpreting ECA Terms and Conditions, the exchange of an MoU between NREB and DNS Waste Management Sdn. Bhd., as well as the prize-giving ceremony for the Young Environmental Storytellers (YES) Digital Competition and the presentation of Environmental Education Fund mock cheques.
