Samalaju Industrial Park in general and Pertama Ferroalloys (Pertama) in particular, has always been a fascinating industry to gain insight into scheduled waste (SW) and Special Management of scheduled waste.

Pertama is a smelting company producing manganese alloy products for steel industry.  The products are silico manganese, ferrosilicon, micro silica and sintered ore. 

We were also briefed on the basic of Air Pollution Control System (APCS) namely, bag filter operation and Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) on the control of hazardous gas emissions.
