KUCHING (Sept 19): The Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, in collaboration with WormingUp, organized a 3T (Train-The-Trainers) Session at the WormingUp Office.

Since Jan 2025, NREB has joined the pilot program "Seeds of Change: Children and Youth in Forest Conservation and Environmental Education at Upper Baram" as a strategic partner. This program is funded by Youth Environment Living Labs (YELL), a joint programme of UNDP Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei Darussalam and UNICEF Malaysia, in collaboration with Amanah Lestari Alam (ALAM), the European Union (EU) and OSK Foundation.

By December 2025, it is targeted to have an Environment Education committee comprising NREB, PPD Baram, and four selected schools in Upper Baram (SK Long Moh, SK Long Anap, SK Long Banga, and SK Long Tungan). Environmental modules are developed as guidance for teaching sessions, and a 3T session is held on 19 September to educate NREB officers on the module content, before they depart for site visits at their respective schools.

This platform would serve as a starting point for NREB to have more engagement with schools at Baram District and greater collaboration with PPD Baram in future.

The training programs are attended by 4 officers from NREB HQ (ECO Ng Kai Ning, EA Sayuti, EA Thomas), 2 officers from NREB Kuching (EA Jerleus, EA Erickson), and 2 officers from NREB Miri (SEA Kennedy, EA Azmi).
