Bandar Seri Begawan 19 Aug 2025 Tuesday – CEQ Datu Jack Liam attended the Mesyuarat Dua Hala Kali Ke-4 Antara Pusat Pengurusan Bencana Kebangsaan (NDMC) Dan Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara (NADMA) Di Bawah Memorandum Persefahaman Di Antara Kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam Dan Kerajaan Malaysia Dalam Bidang Pengurusan Bencana at Radisson Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan, Negara Brunei Darussalam earlier today.
The Malaysian delegation was led by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Abdul Halim bin Hamzah, Ketua Pengarah, Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara (NADMA), Malaysia. Meanwhile, the Sarawak delegation was led by Deputy State Secretary Datu Buckland anak Bangik in his capacity as the Secretariat of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC). The meeting was chaired by Yang Mulia Dyg Ruhaidah binti Haji Rusli, Pemangku Pengarah, Pusat Pengurusan Bencana Kebangsaan (NDMC), Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Among the agenda discussed was Status Perkembangan Penubuhan Disaster Management Working Group Brunei Darussalam – Malaysia, Status Perkembangan Joint Exercise Jabatan Bomba Dan Penyelamat Brunei Darussalam Dan Jabatan Bomba Dan Penyelamat Malaysia, Status Perkembangan Scoping Keupayaan Mencari Dan Menyelamat Kawasan Bandar (USAR) Negara Brunei Darussalam Bagi Persiapan Mendapatkan Pengklasifikasian Antarabangsa Insarag External Classification (IEC) and sharing sessions on Program Community-Based Disaster Risk Management + ICT Bersama Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC), Malaysia and Pelaksanaan Bengkel National Inventory Disaster Response Plan (NIDRP), Negara Brunei Darussalam.
In the afternoon, the delegates paid a technical visit to CAE-Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC), where the group was briefed on the training programs offered by the MPTC that supports disaster preparedness for Brunei and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The programs offered include Community & School Based Disaster Risk Management, Introduction to Emergency & Multi-Crisis Management, Exercise Design, Tactic Techniques & Procedures and On-Site Commander Theory & Practical. Also in attendance from NREB is SECO Mitchell Bay Samuel.
